After i was introduced to a keylogger software by one of my friends, i was afraid to public computers to access my various accounts such as email, internet banking etc.... The worst consequence of this software is that my friend demonstrated the power of the software by stealing the gmail password of another person who introduced the software to him. The software is so stealth that anyone except the person who installed it or a techno geek will be able detect the presence of software running in background. The software records all the keystrokes entered by the user and take screenshot in a regular interval predefined by the user. Some premium software can even mail the keystrokes and screenshot to the hacker which ease the work even further by avoiding the need for accessing the computer regularly to see the keystrokes. There are several methods to check whether a keylogger is running in a system but the software is improving drastically which makes it difficult to find.
As an aid for this problem nowadays several websites use online virtual keyboard which is a online keyboard where we want to click the keys with our mouse. All the mouse click are recorded as a click and the hacker doesnt know which key he has clicked. The position of keys in the keyboard varies for every click which is hard to predict by the screenshot.
